Do I need a cover for my spa or swim spa?
Yes, in New Zealand, spa pools must have a lockable cover to comply with the Building Act 2004. The spa cover must be locked when the spa is not in use to prevent unsupervised access by children under five years old. Alternatively, if your spa does not have a compliant cover, you will need to install an approved pool safety barrier.

Upon purchasing your new spa, you can refer to its user manual for detailed maintenance instructions.

Do I need a concrete slab for my spa?
While not mandatory, we strongly recommend placing your spa on a stable, level surface, such as a concrete slab, to ensure its longevity and stability. If you plan to place your spa on a deck or other structure, consult an engineer to ensure it can support the spa's weight.
Do I need planning permission or building consent for my spa?
Generally, if your spa has a water surface area of 5m² or less, stands at least 760mm high, and has a compliant lockable cover, you do not need planning permission or building consent. However, if your spa does not meet these requirements or if additional structures like decks are involved, you may need to consult your local council for specific regulations.

We highly recommend seeking advice from your local council before installing your spa pool, as regulations may differ between councils.
How do I get my spa into my backyard?
The method of getting your spa into your backyard depends on your property's accessibility. For tight or difficult-to-reach areas, a crane or Hiab truck may be necessary. Our delivery team can help you with a pre-delivery consultation to determine the best approach for getting your spa into its new home.
Who should perform the electrical work for my spa installation?
All electrical work for spa and swim spa installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations.
