Frequently Asked Questions
Are saunas safe?
Our saunas are designed with safety as a top priority. Unlike traditional saunas that use hot rocks and steam, which can be highly unsafe to new sauna users, our saunas incorporate infrared technology known for its therapeutic benefits. The infrared waves in our saunas are similar to those emitted by the sun and are considered safe for use. You can also be assured of the safety of our saunas as all our products comply with New Zealand electrical regulations, which ensure they are of the highest quality.
What’s the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?
The main differences between infrared saunas and traditional saunas lie in their heating methods and temperatures. Infrared saunas use a gentler heat that penetrates the body at lower temperatures, promoting detoxification. Traditional saunas, on the other hand, use steam or dry heat to warm the room, creating a more intense heat often found in commercial spas. Instead of hot rocks, infrared saunas use advanced heaters that directly warm the body, increasing thermal energy and inducing a deep, soothing sweat.
How long does a Wellness Saunas take to heat up?
Starting from 20°C, our saunas heat up as follows:
- First 20 minutes: Temperature rises by 1°C per minute.
- Next 20 minutes: Temperature rises by 1°C every 2 minutes.
- Final 20 minutes: Temperature rises by 1°C every 3 minutes.
The placement of your sauna can impact heating performance due to heat loss, so it's important to consider this when choosing the perfect place in your home for your new sauna.
What is the ideal time to spend in a sauna?
The recommended duration for a sauna session is typically around an hour, with a temperature range of 45-55 degrees Celsius. However, the optimal time can vary depending on personal preferences and tolerance.

Cabinet and electrical components: 5-year warranty
Labour and stereo: 1-year warranty
Our Saunas are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Defective parts within the warranty period will be repaired or replaced, except for any damage caused by negligence, misuse, unauthorised modifications, improper installation, or regular wear and tear.
